“I will stand at my watch and station myself on the ramparts; I will look to see what he will say to me, and what answer I am to give to this complaint. Then the Lord replied: Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it. For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.” Habakkuk 2:1-3 NIV

The tears and choked up feeling snuck up on me Saturday. I tried to stop them and hid them from those around me to the best of my ability, but on Saturday afternoon I was overcome with joy as I saw not only the vision that God gave me come to fruition, I saw the impact of our service on the lives of His children. INREACH 2014. This faith journey was overwhelming to say the least.

Today is not so much a devotional as it is an encouragement. If God spoke a vision into your life, never give up on that vision. At times it may look dim, it may look unfeasible and crazy, and it may even feel like you are doing it alone, but no matter what do not give up on that vision. He can and He will bring it to fruition. My spirit and my soul not only rejoiced Saturday, but they were renewed. We were able to talk with individuals experiencing homelessness as well as pray with them and for them, just as they prayed for us. We were able to fill a specific need for toiletry and hygiene items and we were able to minister with an encouraging word. Our goal, God’s goal, was accomplished but only because we never lost site of the vision.

May these pictures not only serve to inspire you to be of service to others, but may they inspire and encourage you to keep pushing forth towards your vision. I believe each of us has a unique purpose in life and no matter what occurs, if you wake up another day your purpose and destiny is yet before you.
