So here are the hard questions: Is God a sadistic God? No, scripture says He is a loving (1 John 4:6-8), just (Psalms 25:8), and holy (Leviticus 11:44-45) God. Did the Disciples suffer needlessly? No, through their suffering what started out as a small group of followers grew into the salvation of billions through the ages as the Gospel of Jesus Christ spread. So, in reality, is there a purpose for your suffering or hard times? Yes. You have a cross and a purpose and many times they go hand in hand.

When Christ spoke to the woman at the well, He said something I never noticed before; “If you only knew the gift God has for you …” Hope is directly tied to what our Father wants to give us. Hope is the knowledge that our Father, God, has something better for us. We know it even if we don’t see it. We believe that God has a gift for us simply because of who we are to Him – His beloved children.
Each time I try not to hope, hope comes back. It rears its beautiful head in my Spirit and I start to hope again….
